The researchers used surveys to find out if people are willing to provide long-term help to Ukraine. They discovered that most people support Ukraine's right to self-determination, but some are concerned about the risks of getting involved. About a quarter of the population doesn't care about Ukraine's outcome, while another quarter offers unconditional support. This shows that there are limits to how much support Western democracies can provide in the face of autocratic challenges.
