Regional LGBTQI+ festivals like the Broken Heel festival and fabALICE Festival play a crucial role in promoting social movements in local communities. By engaging diverse stakeholders, these events help resist marginalization and advocate for inclusion. Interviews with key stakeholders revealed four main themes: resisting marginalization, fostering identity, promoting inclusion, and addressing emerging tensions. These findings shed light on how regional LGBTQI+ festivals impact communities and suggest areas for further research and advocacy.
