Transgender and questioning high school students face more violence, mental health issues, and unstable housing than cisgender students. They also feel less connected to school and are more likely to skip school due to feeling unsafe. A significant number of transgender and questioning students are bullied and experience persistent sadness or hopelessness. These students are also more likely to attempt suicide compared to cisgender students. Schools need to do more to support transgender and questioning students and create safer environments for them.
