Coordinated online operations threaten integrity of 2024 US election discussions.
IOs are a big threat to elections, including the 2024 U.S. presidential one. A study looked at coordinated fake accounts on (formerly Twitter) sharing misleading info. They found a network of fake accounts spreading biased content and attacking politicians using AI-generated images. Even though some accounts were suspended, most are still active. This shows the need for better ways to detect these threats on social media and the wider web.
