However, the study found that being rigorous and being relevant can actually go hand in hand. By analyzing submissions and reviewing practices at three recent conferences, it was discovered that conference editors tend to prioritize rigorous papers over relevant ones. This suggests that the current evaluation criteria may not accurately reflect the practical relevance of the research presented.
