The Indonesian food manufacturing industry has grown rapidly, but faces challenges like inefficient resource use and low productivity. The goal was to assess its competitiveness. They used different indicators to measure advantages, efficiency, productivity, and market share. The industry showed comparative advantage and efficiency in import substitution and export-oriented sectors. However, some subsectors had comparative disadvantages, which improved over time.
