Intercropping maize with groundnut can affect the growth and yield of both crops. Planting maize further apart and thinning to one plant per hill can increase maize yield. Delaying maize planting can decrease maize yield but increase groundnut yield. More shade from maize can lower groundnut yield. Planting maize closer together and leaving two plants per hill can improve the overall productivity of both crops.
