Large households and young marriages shape Palestinian society in West Bank and Gaza.
The study looked at household structures in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. They found that nuclear families are common in Palestinian society, with more in the West Bank than in Gaza. Households in Gaza tend to be larger due to higher fertility rates. The society is in a youthful stage based on demographic transition theory. Monogamous marriages are most common, and the average age of first marriage is higher in the West Bank than in Gaza for both men and women.
