Ground-source heat pump simulation reduces energy consumption in public libraries.
The researchers calibrated a simulation model of a public library's heating and cooling system in Vigo, Spain, using a ground-source heat pump and radiant floor. They used TRNSYS and GenOpt software to optimize the model. By focusing on energy consumption, they reduced errors in temperature control to meet ASHRAE standards. The study showed that a detailed simulation model can accurately represent the system's performance.
