A new three-parameter distribution model has been introduced as an alternative to commonly used gamma and Weibull distributions for analyzing lifetime data. This model shows similar properties to the gamma and Weibull families but also has distinct features. The researchers found that in a specific dataset, the three-parameter generalized exponential distribution fit better than the three-parameter Weibull or gamma distributions.
