A new query language has been developed for the Virtual Observatory to simplify data retrieval from different types of astronomical databases. This language is based on SQL, a common database query language, and allows for more complex and flexible queries compared to the current standards. By mapping image and spectrum data to a table-like structure, researchers can now easily access and analyze various types of astronomical data using a unified approach.
