The growth of rice production in Bangladesh has been impressive, mainly due to using modern rice varieties. To sustain this growth, we need to focus on increasing yields from these modern varieties. Population control and converting more areas to modern varieties can help, but the key is improving productivity. If efforts to boost economic growth and reduce poverty are successful, it will be crucial to enhance rice productivity.
