Falling real wages in Ghana linked to lack of social security.
Real wages in Ghana have been decreasing for the past twenty years. This does not mean the job market is competitive. The production structure can handle a lot more workers at lower wages, while still paying different wages based on the company. Real wages dropping doesn't mean the job market is fair or that everyone gets paid the same for the same work. Wages are going down because there isn't enough investment to create more jobs. When wages go down, productivity also goes down. It's possible that more stuff is being made, though.
