The study looked at how productivity in different economic sectors of mainland Portugal changed between 1995 and 2002. They found that productivity tends to develop similarly in neighboring regions, especially in agriculture and services. Industries showed more signs of productivity convergence. The results suggest that factors like human capital and spatial effects play a role in how productivity levels change in different regions of Portugal.
