Fungal-treated rice straw with EM boosts nutrition for livestock feed.
A study aimed to make rice straw more nutritious by treating it with fungi and effective microorganisms. They compared plain rice straw, straw treated with fungi, and straw treated with both fungi and microorganisms. The results showed that adding microorganisms to the fungal-treated straw increased the protein and other important nutrients. The best fermentation time was found to be 6 days, which improved the digestibility of the straw. Overall, the combination of fungi and microorganisms improved the quality of the rice straw for feeding animals.
