Irrigation Transforms Climate in Yellow River Basin, Threatening Food Security
The study looked at changes in water resources in an area near the Yellow River. They found that rainfall varied a lot, especially in the 1990s-2000s. This made water shortages worse, so they needed to use water from the river for farming. Water efficiency improved, but there's still room to save more water by changing how they water crops. They also saw that the climate changed a bit because of the irrigation in the area.
