Roof water ponds slash summer cooling costs for buildings by half!
The study looked at different ways to cool buildings without using electricity. They tested three methods on a model house in Iran: putting a pond on the roof, using a water jacket on the roof, and using a radiation shield on the roof. The results showed that these methods can significantly reduce the need for traditional cooling systems in the summer. Among the methods tested, having a water pond on the roof was the most effective, while using a water jacket on the roof was the least effective.
