A Cost Accounting System was developed for fusion studies to organize cost data and estimate expenses for fusion reactor designs. It includes definitions of cost elements, a Code of Accounts for plant components, and methods to analyze actual cost data. This system helps create a fusion cost database and reliable cost estimating procedures. It has been successfully used at the Fusion Engineering Design Center for various fusion projects, promoting a common cost database and allowing direct cost estimate comparisons.
