Fijian school leaders ill-equipped for effective strategic planning, hindering progress.
The study looked at how schools in Fiji are doing with their strategic planning process. Teachers said that school leaders need more training in this area because they lack the knowledge and skills needed. As a result, the planning processes in schools did not follow the best practices recommended in the literature. This means that school leaders need better preparation to make sure they can carry out strategic planning effectively and involve everyone who cares about education. The findings of this study could be important for other developing countries in the Pacific region and beyond.
