GM crops slash pesticide use and emissions, equivalent to removing 16.7M cars.
The use of genetically modified crops has reduced pesticide spraying by 8.2% and lowered the environmental impact of herbicide and insecticide use by 18.4%. This technology has also led to less fuel use and tillage changes, resulting in a significant decrease in greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing 16.7 million cars from the roads in 2016.
