Land degradation, like desertification, is a big issue in dry regions like Iran. A study in Abuzaydabad used a model to map desertification, focusing on land factors. They looked at geology, soil, and wind erosion to create a map. The results showed that medium desertification covered 4792 hectares, while high desertification covered 11369 hectares out of the total area studied.
