The study looked at how much money Australian CEOs were paid in 2006. They found that CEO pay varied a lot between different companies and industries. On average, CEOs made $730,000 a year, with most of it coming from short-term bonuses. The size of the company and how well it was run also affected CEO pay. Surprisingly, they didn't find a link between how much a CEO was paid one year and how well the company did the next year.
