Organic waste boosts wheat yield by 42%: a game changer for farmers!
Researchers studied the lasting impact of organic wastes on wheat yield after two years of applying them with or without chemical fertilizers. They used various organic wastes like municipal solid waste, crop residues, filter cake, and farm yard manure. Results showed that filter cake and MSW increased wheat grain yield by 42% and 39% respectively compared to the control. Combining organic wastes with full NPK fertilizers had the highest residual effect on wheat biomass, straw, and grain yields. This suggests that organic wastes, especially filter cake and MSW, can significantly improve crop productivity over the long term.
