The survey asked 117 weed scientists in the US about crabgrass importance. Large, smooth, and southern crabgrasses are seen as important, while India and blanket crabgrasses are not. Smooth and large crabgrasses are important across the country, while southern crabgrass is mainly a concern in the South. Crabgrasses are more of a problem in turf than other crops. In the Southeast, large crabgrass is the top concern, while in the Northeast, smooth crabgrass is more important.
