New measurements from NASA's TIM instrument on the SORCE satellite show that previous estimates of solar irradiance were too high due to measurement errors. The TIM instrument provides more accurate readings by reducing signal interference from scattered light, resulting in a better understanding of the Sun's influence on climate.
