The article discusses how family and succession laws are evolving to allow parties to choose which law applies. In the Czech legislation and EU regulations, there is some flexibility for parties to select the law they prefer. While the EU rules have limitations, they still give parties the opportunity to pick the law that best suits their situation. This helps to address the differences in conflict-of-law rules across the EU, especially in international family law.
