Unlocking the hidden connections in our minds: Mental lexicon revealed!
The study looked at how Chinese students learn English words by testing 150 sophomores at Dalian University of Technology. They used a computer program to analyze how words are connected in the brain. The results showed that just because a word is mentioned a lot doesn't mean it's strongly connected to other words. The brain doesn't process words all at once, but one after the other. This data can help us understand how words are linked in the brain and create a model of how our mental dictionary works. This could be useful for teaching English in the future.
