Researchers have developed a way to tag Malaysian prawns without affecting their growth or behavior. The tags were made of nylon filament and were tested on prawns for 17 months. The prawns showed no negative effects from the tags, and they were able to retain the tags well in small ponds. In larger ponds with fish, most of the tagged prawns were recovered, and they still had their tags on.
