New herbicide boosts rice production but reduces grain yield.
The researchers tested the herbicide Prechlor on two types of rice to see how it affected weed control and rice growth. They found that using Prechlor at 1.5 L per hectare reduced weed density and weight, but also decreased grain yield. One rice variety, BRRI dhan41, had the highest grain yield. Overall, using Prechlor at 1.5 L per hectare with BRRI dhan41 gave the best results for weed control and rice production.
