Goat Semen Freezing Breakthrough Boosts Livestock Breeding Potential
Two different methods for freezing goat semen were compared in this study. The first method (P1) involved diluting semen directly in an extender with egg yolk and glycerol, while the second method (P2) removed seminal plasma before dilution with a milk extender containing glycerol. After freezing and thawing, P2 resulted in higher sperm motility and live sperm rate compared to P1. Both methods showed similar rates of intact sperm and DNA damage. Overall, P2 was found to be more effective in preserving goat semen quality after freezing.
