Soils from neutral conditions adsorb more zinc, impacting agricultural practices.
The study looked at how different types of soil absorb zinc. Soils from less acidic conditions absorbed more zinc than soils from very acidic conditions. The type of soil layer also affected zinc absorption. Organic matter in the soil didn't explain the differences in zinc absorption. Some extraction methods increased zinc absorption, while others decreased it. Overall, soils from near-neutral conditions absorbed more zinc and were more stable in holding onto it compared to soils from very acidic conditions.
