Diverse Bird Populations Thrive in Predictable Environments, Boosting Ecosystem Resilience
Bird diversity was studied by looking at the number of different species and how common they are in different habitats. The number of species in an area was found to be closely related to how diverse the bird community is. Birds in marshes had low commonness due to nesting and feeding habits. Birds have more even distribution of commonness compared to other organisms. Different environments lead to different strategies for maintaining diversity.
