A new method was developed to calculate confidence intervals for average values in small areas. This method is more accurate and faster than existing methods. It always gives shorter intervals than other methods with the same level of accuracy. The new method is not based on simulations and is quicker to compute. Studies show that this new method outperforms other methods in accuracy and efficiency.
