Polluted Waters Threaten China's Rural Livelihoods, Demand Urgent Action
Water quality in China is getting worse, mainly due to pollution from agriculture. Fertilizers, livestock, and waste disposal in rural areas are the main culprits. This pollution is a big problem for rivers and lakes. But, current laws and policies don't focus on fixing it. Without better rules and ways to pay for clean-up, rural areas and society will suffer. To solve this, China needs new laws, money, monitoring, and guidelines. Fixing agricultural pollution needs help from many groups, not just one.
