The article extends formulas for calculating order statistics from continuous to discrete distributions. By using specific recurrence relations, researchers found that only a few moments need to be evaluated to determine order statistics in a sample. This simplifies the process for both odd and even sample sizes. A series representation was also developed to easily compute product moments of order statistics from various discrete distributions, including the geometric distribution.
