A computer program was created to help choose and test vocabularies for word recognizers. The program predicts how well a recognizer will work with a specific vocabulary by looking for words that could be confused with each other. If two words are too similar, one may be removed from the vocabulary to improve the recognizer's performance. The program was tested with a list of 1000 common words, showing that reducing the vocabulary can make the recognizer work better.
