Artificial beach nourishment in Genoa successfully combats coastal erosion.
Artificial nourishment was used at Vesima Beach in Genoa to prevent coastal erosion and enhance recreational activities. The study analyzed sediment and beach changes before and after nourishment. Results showed stable beach width post-nourishment, with a significant amount of sediment moved from shoreface to nearshore zone. This research helps understand how sediments move and beach morphology changes due to natural processes.
