Older, educated Turkish workers more supportive of EU membership than young.
Workers in Turkey have mixed views on the country joining the EU. Older workers are more likely to support it, while highly educated individuals are more likely to oppose it. Surprisingly, those with modernist characteristics are not the most supportive. Members of the Islamic trade union federation are more in favor of EU entry compared to other federations. This study used statistical analysis to understand the opinions of over 6000 Turkish trade union members on Turkey's EU membership.
