The researchers evaluated soil fertility in Yanjin County using fuzzy mathematics and ArcGIS software. They found that the soil in the region is slightly alkaline and low in nutrients like total N, total P, and organic matter. The overall soil fertility level was low, with significant differences in fertility based on soil profile configuration. Soils with loamy surface and clayey subsurface had the highest fertility, followed by loamy surface and sandy subsurface, and sandy in both layers. The region's soils need improvement in water and nutrient conservation.
