The article examines how cultural activities and habits affect the school success of boys and girls in eighth grade. Girls and higher-income students are more likely to participate in cultural activities. Cultural capital has a positive impact on girls' grades, even when considering habits. Boys' grades are less affected by cultural capital. Habits strongly influence both boys and girls' grades. Female students are more encouraged to use their cultural knowledge to do well in school.
