New Heat Transport System Boosts Efficiency and Reduces Energy Consumption.
A study analyzed a system that uses methanol to move heat efficiently. By increasing the pressure in the methanol decomposition process, the system's efficiency improved. However, higher pressure also led to more heat loss. Testing a new reactor design showed that efficiency stayed consistent at certain methanol conversion levels. When conversion was above 80%, efficiency increased with pressure, and below 40%, efficiency decreased with pressure.
