New biofuel blend shows promising energy efficiency for sustainable future.
The researchers looked into using a mix of glycerin and biomass as a new fuel source. They measured the energy used to make the fuel and the energy gained from it. Different types of biomass like rice husk and sawdust were used, along with varying amounts of glycerin. The energy used compared to the energy gained was around 1-3% for small-scale drying and 12-18% for large-scale drying. The fuel's heating value increased with more glycerin added. Using glycerin and biomass together seems like a good idea for making alternative fuel.
