The article looks at how wages changed in Poland from 1994 to 2001. It found that earnings inequality increased for both men and women during this time. The changes in wages were mostly due to changes in worker characteristics, not the type of jobs available. The predictions of big differences in wages didn't happen. Men and women saw different changes in their wages. Factors like how many people were looking for work didn't have a big impact on wages. Instead, what jobs were in demand played a bigger role in how much people earned.
