The Hazardous Waste/Mixed Waste Disposal Facility at the Savannah River Site will store, treat, and dispose of hazardous and mixed waste that cannot be handled by other facilities. Phase I, the Disposal Vaults, is complete and will start operating in 1994. Phase II, the Treatment Building, is in progress and will treat waste for disposal by 1996. The facility aims to safely manage hazardous waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
