The article discusses different design methods and how they are related. Axiomatic Design is highlighted as a clear method for the design process. Other methods are seen as tools to connect specific design requirements to solutions within Axiomatic Design. Design solutions should be broken down into levels, and the most suitable method should be chosen for each requirement. By applying two axioms, good or best designs can be determined. The example of Design for Assembly shows that Axiomatic Design can be used to create new design methods effectively.
