Soil erosion risk in Jharkhand basin revealed: 12.2 ton/ha/yr loss.
Soil erosion is a big problem in farming areas, causing lower crop yields and less water. The USLE model is commonly used to predict erosion. In this study, researchers used USLE and GIS to figure out how much soil is lost each year in Upper South Koel basin. They looked at factors like land shape, soil type, and rainfall to estimate erosion. The results showed that the area loses about 12.2 tons of soil per hectare each year. This information can help decide where to focus on preventing erosion.
