Gender wage discrimination rampant in China's rural industrial sector, study finds.
The study looked at how men and women are paid in China's rural factories. Women's wages are influenced by their education and experience. In China, women are paid less compared to men in these factories. But, as the job market has opened up, the pay gap has started to shrink. Before, women were paid less because of their gender, but now it's changing. In factories where people are hired based on skills, women are paid almost the same as men.
