Isoflavone treatment reverses liver damage caused by oxidative stress in rats.
Oxidative stress can harm cells and cause diseases. A study looked at how a natural compound called isoflavone affects this stress in rat livers. Rats were split into groups: one had stress, one had stress and isoflavone, and one was normal. The stressed rats had lower levels of a protective enzyme called SOD and higher levels of harmful molecules. But the rats given isoflavone had normal SOD levels and lower harmful molecules. This shows that isoflavone can help protect the liver from damage caused by oxidative stress.
