The article discusses the lack of research evidence supporting the claims of success for extreme programming (XP) and agile modeling (AM). Most existing research focuses on case studies and pair programming, with little empirical research on AM. The article suggests further study on unstudied XP core practices and the interaction between related core practice areas. It also recommends investigating claims that XP and AM are just repackaged old concepts.
