Introduction of common carp boosts fish growth and yield in polyculture ponds.
The study looked at how adding common carp to ponds with other fish affected the pond's ecosystem and fish growth. They found that common carp living at the bottom of the pond changed the amount and type of food available for other fish. When common carp were present, the growth of other fish, like mrigal, increased significantly. Overall, ponds with common carp had a higher fish yield compared to ponds without them.
